Phytoplastic

“Phytoplastic”, by Ellie Irons, is a little confusing at first. I really had no idea what was happening, but the way that she put this together made me desperately want to know what was happening. I literally played it about ten times with my eyes entirely glued to my computer screen trying to figure out what was happening. I still has absolutely no idea. I decided the enough was enough.

Through research I discovered that Irons made “Phytoplastic” to show deterioration of a microscopic aquatic ecosystem through physical and chemical pollution. After finding this out, it all made sense to me. It was brilliant how she portrayed pollution. Because what was happening was so unclear, it made me want to research her to see what was happening. This was smart because when reading her description about this piece, you are jammed pack full of knowledge about pollution.
