For my self portrait, I wanted to create something unique and different from everyone else’s. I separated my image into four panels and filled each with something from a living thing. The top panel is of fawn ears because I thought it would be cute. I was right. The second panel down is from one of my favorite selfies and my teacher also really likes the picture as well. So thats a plus. The third panel is of a hairless cat nose because, I absolutely adore hairless cats and I need one in my life. Finally, the last panel is just my mouth from a different selfie.
I really enjoyed this project and took a lot of time doing it. I focused a lot on contrast because I wanted it to catch the viewers eye. Also, I didn’t want it to become flat. If I had to do something over, I would have done the hairless cat panel a little differently. I would actually spend some time and find another hairless cat face I like OR I would just use the liquify tool to manipulate the shape of the cats face to match mine more. Overall I am extremely happy with the results and I am so happy to see how far I have come in just one year starting with no art experience besides photography.
