Classmate Critique 2 (Austin Suain)

The overlap and follow through of this animation was fairly moderate. There was very little. He needs to offset the arms when they come up. One should be moving a little bit before the other one. The first half was pretty strong but then it gets lost in the second half. Body looks like a board when it is turning and it looks very unnatural. It looks like the clavicles were not animated as well. Also, don’t forget to rotate the hips.

The spacing and timing were good. There were only small problems in the transitions from pose to pose. I also noticed some freezing and a little pit of a lock in some of the joints. There is actually quite a large snap that takes place after the turn. Your character needs to start to lean back fast and then slow down its speed until it is at a constant. The run back was WAY too fast. It is also very snappy  and the speed is too consistent. It is lacking an ease out. The turn is just way too fast and it pops as well.

The path of action was moderate as well. The character displays decent action and reactions but, it needs some refinement. There was some good anticipation before the turn. There has to be a bit more ease in and ease out on the arm swings however. Also, the legs need it when your character is running as well. The second half of the video lacks squash and stretch and it needs exaggeration.
